Weekend Recap & Shower #2

This past weekend, my wonderful aunts hosted a shower for me. It was a brunch shower, and it was perfectly beautiful and elegant and fun. Unfortunately, the last thing I thought about doing was taking pictures with my iphone of all the lovely decorations, food and guests. BUT! I have a few pics of the weekend and it was super fun. It started out with Seth and I picking up my Aunt Jeanine from the airport. She lives in Vermont so it was so great to have her down for the weekend.

Friday night we relaxed at my parents house, ran a few errands and went to bed early. Because Saturday, we had an early nail appointment :) My mom and Aunt got pedicures and I got my first gel manicure. I’ve never had fake nails before and only had a manicure a few times for prom/weddings, etc. But I get sooo frustrated because without fail every single time, they chip or smudge within one day of the painting. So this time, I decided to try the gel. I got it done on Saturday AM, and today is Wednesday…and it’s still perfect! I’m sold. I just got a light pink neutral color because my dress was purple and it worked out perfectly.

The shower started at 11:30 so we headed over there after our nail appointment. This shower was my mom + dad’s families, my mom’s girlfriends and some of my bridesmaids. It was a great group and I had such a good time. We had “brunch” food which included delicious mimosas, quiche, fruit, cinnamon rolls, salads, and cute little cupcakes for dessert. The weather was absolutely perfect–which after our 3-day 100 degree heat wave was much appreciated.

I was able to snap one picture on my phone of a few of my beautiful bridesmaids who were able to make it to this shower. They are all so pretty.

And I can’t forget the equally awesome favors that were a part of this shower. I guess I’m pretty transparent about my favorite foods. First caramel popcorn and then homemade chocolate covered pretzels. I ate my last two last night and it was a sad moment.

So after lots and lots of gifts were opened, thank-yous were exchanged and the car was loaded, we headed back to my parent’s house. Sunday was spent running more wedding-related errands and taking my aunt back to the airport. It was so great to see her and spend time with her, I hate that we live so far away.

And then, because Seth & I appear to be incapable of cooking anymore on Sunday nights, we went out for a little Mexican fiesta. Chips, salsa and margs are the perfect way to end any weekend.

And that was it! It was a perfect weekend and I’m so lucky and blessed to have so many amazing family members and friends who made me feel so special and loved. I can’t wait to celebrate with everyone this fall! October 5th will be here before we know it.
